Leo Murray
SAVANNAH – Leo Murray, age 70, died Tuesday, May 3, 2008, at Hospice House. The Savannah native moved to New York City at the age of six and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School with the Wingate Medal of Honor for athletics.
He retired after twenty years of service from the Bernard and Fineson Developmental Center. After retirement he returned to Savannah in 2003.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Murray of Savannah; two daughters, Rashida Murray of Savannah and Donna Edwards of Bucks County, PA; a son, Omar Murray of Queens, NY; his father, Benjamin Murray; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation: Sunday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: Monday, June 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment in Emma Grove Cemetery.
